It surprises me how many people believe they have a right to watch free television, that is without advertising.
Whenever I read people saying.. TV is more about revenue than viewers pleasure it begs the question:
In your line of work, how much was unpaid work performed purely for your customers’ enjoyment?
Example Comment
OK Channel Seven, you are now (as you constantly advertise) the home of cricket. Then why are you not showing the Pakistan v Australia games? And Channel Ten, the home of motorsport, why do we have to put up with second-rate coverage, and late-night replays? Sport on free channels is more about revenue than viewers’ pleasure.

My Say
We receive so many comments wanting tv without ads, we have our own standard reply..
Thank you for your feedback.
If the feedback relates to advertising, keep in mind advertising revenue is how free-to-air television is funded in Australia.
The alternatives to the current advertising model include:
–> Television licence fees (UK).
–> Paid subscription (USA).
While we don’t agree with the model or excessive advertising until an alternative is devised, advertising is here to stay.
